Building a Fair Gig Economy Starts with Youth
Kenya’s gig economy employs over 1 million youth — but most earn less than KES 500/day.
Project~ETHER is fostering a safe, empowering, and human rights-compliant tech labour market.
Through town halls, policy briefs, and youth-led campaigns, we’re:
- Training riders on platform rights
- Supporting women in tech with safety toolkits
- Pushing platforms for transparent algorithms
Success Story:
In Nakuru, 200 riders formed a digital co-op after our workshop. They now negotiate better rates.
This is the future we’re building — one youth, one policy, one platform at a time.
